Search not returning results
I am trying to locate files with the extension dbx within a given directory and its subdirectories. I know the files are there - I can navigate to them - but Windows 7 Search is stumped by this simple request. I have entered *.dbx and just dbx into the search field. 1) Why is it not working? 2) How can I reliably find files on my computer Thanks in advance.

Hi, Please try searching with the following: *.dbx (with the quotations) If the issue persists, please also check the Indexing Options and ensure that all the locations you want to index are in the list. If not, you can refer to the following to add a location or adjust the location settings: 1. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items and click Indexing Options. 2. Click Modify. 3. To add a location, select its check box in the Change selected locations list, and then click OK. In addition, I would like to share the following with you: Improve Windows searches using the index: frequently asked questions Change advanced indexing options Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
