Scrolling and Page Up/Down keys
Using XP SP 3 on a Lenovo laptop On the keyboard, when I try to use the page up and down keys while on a web page, nothing happens the way it should. PgDn takes me down a little bit and then no further and PgUp does nothing. The Down Arrow key takes me to the bottom of the page while the Up Arrow takes me to the top of the page. There is also a cursor within the webpage I am viewing. It worked fine until my daughter came over while I was on a webpage and a screen came up (like the Sticky Keys window) and before I could see what it was about, it went away. I can scroll down with the touchpad and along the side of the screen, moving the bar up and down. This only seems to happen when I'm using Firefox. Any suggestions? I'll be asking about this on Firefox forum, too. Thanks!!1 person got this answerI do too

Go to Control Panel>Accessibility Options and disable all the accessibility settings, including Sticky Keys.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I tried that and it still doesn't fix the problem.

Then try a System Restore to before your daughter was on the keyboard and/or ask her what she changed.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

1. My daughter didn't physically do anything. I was working on the laptop and she leaned over to say goodnight. Her stomach or hip hit something while I was typing. I don't know what she leaned on. 2. For some reason, I'm unable to restore my system. I've tried system checkpoints and trying uninstall points. All comes up as incomplete restoration.

Then without seeing the computer, I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas. She must have hit some combination of keys that changed your scrolling behavior. You'll have to look in the mouse/touchpad Control Panel applet, the keyboard applet if there is one, check again in Accessibility Options, and see if you have any kind of specialized keyboard software that does macros when you press a key combination. I'm sorry I was unable to help you.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
