Screensaver, Power Options, etc. Not Working, Win7 64-bit
Hello all. This has been bothering me for a LONG time, ever since I built this computer back in November 2010. Simply put, my screensaver, sleep mode, etc., none of that works. I have set the timers to 1min and they still will not trigger. I've disconnected all USB devices, including keyboard and mouse, and they still will not trigger. I've Googled (and Blinged) this question a hundred times, and all I get are Windows Vista replies and "solutions" that date back to 2009. The best I've found is to download the "Microsoft HID non-user input data filter" from: http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=Microsoft%20HID%20non-user%20input%20data%20filter and install that. However, I have not been able to find an actual way to install it, and none of my Googling has found an answer. I've tried running Windows Update (numerous times), but it does not find that HID filter. I am quite frustrated with this. Please, does anyone have any advice or help or anything? Thank you.

Hi, The HID Non-User Input Data Filter is Microsoft Other hardware software update, if you cannot install this package, you could update the hardware manually for test. Meanwhile, I suggest you could create a new power plan to check how it works: Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme) If you have a Microsoft Wireless mouse on your computer, I suggest that you follow the steps in the below article: The screen saver does not start after you install a wireless pointing device Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Had the same problem (till this morning) and it was driving me nuts. I found another thread (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/5a137c3b-92c2-4d72-8bb3-6c6ab9129db8) which seems to have solved it for me. Refer to the following steps please. 1. Click Start, please type “CMD” (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and right click on the “cmd.exe” choose “Run as administrator” 2. I tried the powercfg /requests thing, and under displays "None" is listed. The only thing listed is my audio driver. Also, I do not have a wireless mouse. I've also tried hooking up zero USB peripherals to no avail. (Nothing consistent or testable.) So, I'm not sure what to do about this.
