Screen turns BLACK (blinking)
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3Recently, my screen turns BLACK and back again after a few seconds quite frequently whenever I type something or surf the net.I strongly suspect it has something to do with Java. But after uninstalling Java, the problem still persists.I have scanned my computer with Anti-virus software, but still can't resolve the issue.Any helps appreciate.

Hi,· Do you remember making any changes to the system?· Since when are you facing this issue?· Why do you think that it is a Java issue? Do you get any error message related to Java? Mostly these issues occur due to Video card. If the drivers are not installed properly on the system, I would suggest you to update the video card drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check whether the issue is resolved. I think it is a Java issue is because the problem is most serious when playing card games. The card are in "torn" state. But it also occurs during ALL other activities with the computer.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the display card driver (through Windows auto search) but to no avail. The following link is a post I found who has a very similar problem as mine.http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/2997ecb5-1772-4300-a845-d0c6870a5047As a side issue, I am not able to see your (and others) reply in the usual forum. I have to click on my ID to look for the question I posed before I saw your reply. This is why I posed it the second time. Sorry if it has caused annoyance to the forum. Lee CC

Hello! After trying all the ways and means to solve the problem as suggested (such as UNinstalled and reinstalled the driver from the manufacturer website, Nivdia GeForce 6600GT), the problem still persists.FYI, Nivdia no longer updating the driver of this 6600GT video card. It gives an alternate model. With the problem remaining, it only goes to show that all these "updated" drivers are not suitable for my video card. However, I managed to TEMPORARY stopped the blinking by DISABLING the video card driver. But it is temporary because the screen has some "colorful dots" hovering whenever I move the mouse. I could bear with this.Perhaps, the next culrprit could be the video card itself.Anyway, thanks for your response. Lee CC
