Screen has suddenly gone blank
Started up machine this morning, working fine for about an hour, then all of a sudden the screen disappeared, as if there was a sudden power failure.Monitor LED is on (not flashing).Motherboard LED is red constantly - red (not flickering). No sound or start up beep on reboot.I thought it could have been monitor but it works fine on another XP machine.Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this?1 person needs an answerI do too

Sounds like your motherboard has died. It could be the power supply but from your description of the symptoms I doubt it.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I transfered the hard disk out of this computer into a new computer, now the old disk drive is saying that it is not formatted. I have a post on this forum and some helpful guys are looking into what could be causing this;http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xphardware/thread/5b8aec91-6316-4c02-920a-e5b96d17f0e5/#bdf2f191-4759-474a-aee3-6dd04abb449b
