Screen Saver and Power issues
This used to happen sporadically when I would install a fresh copy of Windows 7 (Even since the RC), but it had gone away for a long while, and is now back again full force. I have my screen saver set to 10 minutes, and my monitor set to shut off after 15 minutes. Since about a week ago, neither will trigger as expected. I've seen the screen saver come on sometimes, but the monitor will not shut off. And just now, after leaving it for 3 hours, neither one triggered. I've noticed the monitor shut off only once maybe in a week. What can I do to help diagnose this problem? (I'm not using any wireless input devices. I used to have a Microsoft wireless mouse/keyboard combo, but threw it away months ago) Also, on a related, but different subject, I can't figure out why my computer refuses to turn off and stay off. Sometimes when I shut down or hibernate, it will turn right back on after 2-3 seconds being off. I've checked the ACPI settings in my BIOS, and Wake on LAN and other related functionality is off. Can windows even have any control over this, or is this a hardware issue? A+, Network+, MCSA, MCTS
