Scheduled Task at Logon
I have a scheduled task created that runs at logon and is distributed via GPO. I have set the Delay task for 30 minutes in the trigger to prevent alot of traffic if a large number of users login at roughly the same time (the task uses a script on the network and does file transfers). I am curious to know what happens if a user logs in and the task gets queued, what happens if the user logs out? Does the task stay queued and still run, or does the user have to remain logged in for the queued task to run? Thank you.

If it is a task dependent on a user being logged in then yes the task will not run if the user logs of. If you want to have a task independent of a user being logged on then try this: Assign computer startup scripts Computer start up scripts run regardless of the user being logged on or not. Here is the full information: Set up scripts on the domain controller Assign computer startup scripts Assign computer shutdown scripts Assign user logon scripts Assign user logoff scripts Use Startup, Shutdown, Logon, and Logoff Scripts
