Scheduled Backup hangs
My documents folders were due to be backed up today on a Lacie USB hard disk whichis always attached and is operating OK.I received an Action Centre Message Backup in Progress. After an hour it was still busy. I clicked on the Backup in Progress message and then on Details which revealed that Backup was busy doing a Shadow copy and it was stuck on 15%.I tried to Stop backup and it said Stopping and although the following indicated that the backup had stopped, this window remained open indefinitely and never indicated that the backup may have stopped. I clicked on the Backup in Progress message again and this time there was no indication that the backup was running, however the Details window which still said Stopping was still open. I closed that window. Now I have an Action Centre message saying Backup in Progress and when I click on that message there is no indication that there is a backup in progress.I rebooted and was able to replicate the issue.Other aspects of W7100 are great however there are clearly serious problems with Backup - it is tying itself up in knots.Any suggestions?W7100(I reported a similar issue on W7000 but can't find the thread.)[Edit] I was able to clear the Backup in progress message by rebooting then turning off Scheduled Backups - at least with 7100 I have a workaround.My original problem of why scheduled backup hangs has not been resolved.

Hi,This is a known issue in backup caused due to the installation of certain applications. It has been fixed for RTM.
