I have Typed this Question on A  AMD 4.2 Gh 8Gb ram 1Tb system running  Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

Then Why wont it work On the   A Intel 2.4 Quad core 8GbRam 500gb system running Windows 8.1

It installs Drivers And the  Program (in desktop mode) Local user.

Yet all you get is a         blank screen               in apps   And   desktop   (camera. skype. messenger)

Hi

Product compatibility status in the compatibility center is determined by many parts, for example, it has passed Windows certification requirements and received a logo, the app publisher or device manufacturer stated this products works with Windows 8/8.1, Microsoft takes user's feedback into account and make updates accordingly. What I want to say is that the status in the compatibility center is for reference only , it 's better to contact the manufacture and find out the result.

Actually, I found the driver for this camera here

http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=218&subCatID=846&prodID=16959&prodName=Live! Cam Vista IM (VF0420)&subCatName=Live! Cam Series&CatName=Web+Cameras&VARSET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_16959,VARSET=CategoryID:218

but it doesn't includes drivers and applications for Windows 8/8.1

and the same result in the link

Maybe you can try to downlaod the driver and related applications for Windows 7, then install it in a compatibility mode, just right click the setup.exe, properties, compatibility.

Or contact the manufacture of the web camera, they're more familiar with this product.

Very Well Answered   And thank You for the input Do Note though when Clicking Update driver > manually chose Drive  uncheck The Box       Chose from List of drivers then> Image Devices  > Creative > there is one listed there VF0650  (That is a Driver that comes with W8.1)
