Saving Wireless Connections
We have two wireless routers with the broadcast feature disabled for both routers. How do we create a manual connection in Windows 7 Professional and save the profiles so that we can use them to connect again later? For some reason the connections are not saved, perhaps after disconnecting or following a reboot. Since the broadcast is disabled (for security reasons) it is frustrating to have to repeatedly establish a manual connection. Can't these connections be saved and then simply selected when needed without requiring the pass keys or other information?

in the Network and Sharing Center if you already have the profile created, you only missed a step. Left side of panel you see Manage Wireless Network, click that. For profiles already created, just right click the profile, select Properties, and check the box Connect automatically when this network is in range, AND Connect even if the network is not broadcasting its name (SSID). If you're creating the profiles, the bottom of that box should already have the 1st box checked, you're just forgetting to check the next box below it. Also be sure to disable the power saving features of any network adapter. Thank you for the reply. Please note that we have already checked the property boxes you recommended when creating the profile. The problem is that when we return to "Manage Wireless Networks" the window is empty and the profiles we originally created have been removed. Do you have any thoughts as to why our profiles are being deleted? We have created them several times and they eventually disappear.
