SYNC CENTER ERRORS
I have a Dell laptop on an office network with data files on our server. I synced several folders on our Mark 1 server and when I sync, I continually get these errors: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and no process is using these files. When I shut down and try to work at home, the files are greyed out and can't be accessed. So far, Windows 7 Sync is far inferior to Windows XP. Any solutions by someone else having this problem???

Hi, Based on my research, the error message ("The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process") can occur if some applications conflict with the offline folder synchronization process. Please check if there is any Anti-virus application scanning the redirected folders on the server, also check if there is any backup process is running during time of the error message occurrence. Meanwhile, if possible, please disable the group policy settings that applied to the problematic Windows 7 computer and then check if the error message will re-occur. You also delete Temporary offline files on the problematic Windows 7 computer and then re-sync to check if the fix the issue. To narrow down the issue, you may also refer to the following steps to boot the problematic Windows 7 with Clean boot. Step: Perform a Clean Boot 1. Click "Start" menu and type "msconfig" in the open box to start the System Configuration Utility. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click Disable All (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". 4. Restart your computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the box and click "OK". Hope it helps. Novak
