SUPER STRANGE - After RAM upgrade from 2GB to 4GB my computer DOES NOT CONNECT THROUGH PPPoE!
Hi all, I bought 2 chips RAM memory 2 x 2GB, SODIMM DDR2 at 667, which are for my laptop:Acer Ferrari 5004 WLMiOS: Windows Vista Business 64-bit, SP1All worked well until I installed the new RAM. Now I have 4GB RAM, all is ok except 1 thing: I cannot connect to internet through the cable. It shows me: Connecting through WAN miniport (PPPoe):.........And that is it! Later on, it shows ERROR 815. My Internet Provider decided to send somebody to check their devices near my home. The problem is not in their devices, because when I put my old RAM memory back (2 x 1GB), all is ok I can connect through PPPoE. I tried again. I put the new RAM (2 x 2GB) again in the laptop and I tried to connect through Wireless rooter. It worked!! I was surprised. But I have Wireless only at home. When I go the office or some other places I usually use a cable. I decided that the problem is in the software. I preinstalled a Windows Vista 64-bit again, and the first thing I did was to try to connect Alas! It still does not work! After that I looked in the BIOS. All inside the BIOS is OK it shows 4096MB. I tried a combination 1 x 1 GB and 1 x 2 GB. The BIOS shows 3070MB, but still does not connect to internet. It shows: Connecting through WAN miniport PPPoE. .. . ........And I feel really bad! Now I think that my RAM memory conflicts with the PPPoE, but what should I do? If anyone has same problem or has some idea, I will appreciate any help! Sincerely yours, Hvanta Sunny Beach P.S.
