STOREX AivX 385 HDRW can't access Windows 7 computer
Hello, I did a quick search in the forums, but I was unable to find any thread about it. The STOREX AivX 385 HDRW is a network multimedia HD unable to access to the WIndows 7 computer. Everytime I try to connect, I'm prompted to enter an user/pwd. Any idea on this? The Multimedia HD can see the network set in the Windows 7 machine. Thanks in advance, If it was helpful, please vote! Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Please check the share folder on your Windows 7 computer, please ensure that you have shared it to Everyone and assigned Full-control permission on it. 2. On the Windows 7 computer, please go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings and ensure that the following items are turned on: Network Discovery File and printer sharing And the following is OFF: Password protected sharing 3. If you have some other computers on the network, please check if it can access the Windows 7 Share Folder. If the issue persists, considering you are using a specific device to connect the Windows 7 share, it is also recommended that you contact the support of the device for further inverstigation. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hello, I have the same problem, I have tried all of the above and still cannot get it to work, and was wondering if there are any further actions we can take. My other computers running XP and Vista can see win7 on the network, but the external multimedia drive can't. I have contacted the manufacturer and they insist it is a win7 issue to do with excessive levels of permissions/protection to access in a network. Thnak you

Reckon Not sure if you are still having this problem but I found a solution for it and has worked for me and I am now able to connect my STOREX AivX 385 HDRW through my home network with a windows 7 pc. I followed the first set of instructions here http://www.astone.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=106 and changed 3 registry entries. After rebooting the pc I was able to access windows 7 pc through network and can now stream media files on my pc directly from my Storex multimedia HD. The multimedia HD will still request a net user id and password, but if left blank and simply press 'ok and save' it will log you in. Unfortunately it's only 1 way as I still cannot get my windows pc to access the multimedia HD - do you have any solutions to this?
