SSL Network Extender Service is Down and could not be started
I'm trying to use a VPN access from work, which worked fine in XP but with vista the SSL service won't start. Any ideas?

Hi, Before moving on troubleshooting, could you please let me know if you are using Checkpoint client? If so, the problem is a known issue on Checkpoints side. Checkpoint suggests update the ActiveX component in IE's Manage Add-On section to resolve the problem. If the issue still persists, I suggest you contact Checkpoint support to address the problem. Support Programs and Plans http://www.checkpoint.com/services/techsupport/index.html Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. There is an updated client you can manually install from checkpoint's support site. I had the same problem. It works. Search for the following title:--SNX R71 For Windows XP and Vista-- Product: SSL Network Extender Version: R71 OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows MD5: d3b0f724e37fe24b9f5861d450cba1e1 Size: 721.40 KB Date Published: 2009-04-08 It's about an 800K install file that you install manually on that client and it will connect just fine. There are earlier versions if you are not running R70.1.
