SSDP Discovery service unexpectedly stops
Hi all,
I've discovered this problem as my UPnP device (Sony Bravia tv) constantly lost connection with the Windows Media Player sharing server (used as the DLNA media server for the Sony TV).
I started investigating the issue and using the Event Viewer I noticed that every time I start the SSDP service, and
exactly after 10.00 minutes, it unexpectedly and undesirably stops.
For sure this causes the disconnection between the TV and my PC and stops the streaming.
What could be the reason for that? How can i further investigate to solve this issue?
Thanks.

Process Monitor and Process Explorer may help to resolve if there are any memory leaks.

Hi ,
I would like to confirm if the
connection between the TV and PC will recover after the SSDP Discovery service is started.
Is there any error in the event log which mentions why the SSDP Discovery service would stops unexpectedly?
Meanwhile, I suggest you
temporarily disable all the security programs including firewalls and boot in
Clean Boot to test the issue.
When in the clean boot mode, you need to manually start some services such as SSDP Discovery service and UPnP device Host to support UPnP device.

Hi Tracy,
First, to your question...
The connection did recover after the service was started.
There were no errors what so ever in the event log that mentioned anything about the SSDP service, only the start and stop event of it.
I have no significant security programs running, just Microsoft Security Essentials (which should have nothing to do with that) and a firewall on my router (which should not interrupt anything in my local network).
Having said all that, from some reason it now seems to work OK and with no disconnections.
I'll test it for a while before I'm announcing it as solved (if so).
If it will happen again I'll try to do what you suggested with the Clean Boot mode.
Thanks allot...
