SPDIF out none or cracked sound when playing DD/DTS
Hi, Iam unsure if it is a driver problem or somewheare inside win. I can only avoid HW issue (Win XP/Vista without problems). Using Creative SB Audigy 2, latest driver 6.0.1.1370. Win7 x64 7100. Stereo playback is passed correctly thorough SPDIF, but not the multichannel (doesnt matter DD/DTS). Interesting is that DD/DTS test in "Supported formats" in SPDIF configuration works fine, receiver recognizes output format and correct speakers play during test. However WMP, when forced to use SPDIF, produces something receiver canot decode with none or cracked sound as a result. Other interesting thing is that VLC player produces damaged sound also (not as bad as WMP), when using SPDIF, but at least receiver can recognise it as DD/DTS. Since there isnt other driver to test, I have to wait, unles the problem is somewheare else. I have found many other questions on inet with similar problems even with different sound devices, so it looks like the problem may not be in driver. David

I am having the exact same issues with SPDIF in Win7 x64. Music sounds just fine, but any DVD playback through Media Player or Media Center produces cracked sound. This occurs on an ASRock ION 330-HT. Version 6.1.7600.16385 of HD Audio Driver.
