SP1 does some install work despite not being fully downloaded
I started the download of SP1, then had to stop before it was done. Noted TrustedInstaller was continuing to be very busy. Went to reboot and it couldn't shutdown for about 5 min while it said it was configuring updates. Details: Win 7 Pro 32-bit. Updates set to just notify, not download or install. I unchecked all but SP1, started the download, about 30% in had to stop and told the updated to stop the download and it said it did. I closed the update window. Noticed a couple minutes later the system was very busy and found TrustedUpdater taking about half the processor time. Was concerned what it was doing with an incomplete download so decided to restart. Got that "windows will shutdown shortly, configuring updates" or some such message for about 5 minutes before it rebooted. System seems to be okay but is this an error the update processes start messing with the system before it even has a completed download?

Hello Njem, Trustedinstaller is working on building the service pack on your system as it downloads bits. Are you downloading from Windows Update or the stand-alone package? Thanks, Darrell Gorter This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
