SNMP was working fine on several PC's running Windows 7 on my company, but when aplying updates suddently stopped working. We already tried on test machines to remove upgrades but SNMP still doesnt work. Even we tried to reinstall the service and manually upgrade them to SP1... we tried KB980259 without success...

Hi Carlos Brolo Tobar, Thanks for the post! 1. Are there any related logs with SNMP in your Event Viewer(application or system)? 2. Check if the SNMP service is started. 3. Run the command "notepad %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etcs\Services" to open the Services file and determine whether the lines that are lilsted below have been changed. If they have been changed, correct the file, save the changes, and then restart the service. snmp 161/udp #snmp snmp 162/udp snmp-trap #snmp trap 4. If no clue found, I suggest you enable SNMP logging to determine additioinal causes for failure. Thanks, 1.- No logs related to SNMP, apparently all is ok 2.- Service started correctly 3.- Ports OK, even tried with different ports but no response from it 4.- No log generated Problem only on updated Windows 7 machines / OEM un-updated machines are OK. / Tried to remove updates on the updated machines, and after removing all updates machines still have SNMP giving no responses. SNMP is correctly configured since non upgraded machines are working fine and they share the same configuration as in the upgraded ones. I even tried to Shut down Firewall with --->> NO SNMP response... Uninstall service / Reinstall --->> NO SNMP response Allow all machines to access SNMP data with full read and write -->> No SNMP response dunno what to do!.

I have found one laptop running SNMP correctly... SNMP.exe details version: 6.1.7601.17514 builded Saturday Nov 20 2010 at 06:17:42 am and finded that machines where SNMP is unresponsive SNMP.exe details are: version: 6.1.7601.17514 builded Saturday Nov 20 2010 at 04:17:44 am ¿Could be a failed SNMP compile?
