Hi, I am trying to install pre-built libraries, namely OpenCV 2.3. while setting the environment variabl, I am getting the error: "Access to the registry path is denied". I am using the following command: setx -m OPENCV_DIR D:\OpenCV\Build\Install. I have administrative rights. I am using Windows 7 professional 32 bit. I have tried to install the library on other drives, but of no use. waiting for a solution, Thanking in anticipation, Best, Rahman M

Hello there I am facing the same problem. Do you think I should follow the steps you outlined and upload the log file? Thanks

Hi I have done the above steps and I tried to upload the file via SkyDrive. It gave me an error that the log file exceeds 300MB so can't be uploaded. Could you tell me how do I capture only a snippet of processes and not the whole lot? Thanks

I tried this many times but didn't work. Then I tried below syntax: SETX /S <Machine Name> <Variable> <Value> /M I am not sure why but in Windows 7, if you specify machine name on which you are adding system variable, even for local machine then it works.

I just had the same problem but resolved it another way (if one day someone else is interested in it) : I just did set -m OPENCV_DIR D:\OpenCV\Build\Install (i.e. I just had it to the administrator path and not to all the account one's) and it works perfectly ! No need to install anything else ! Best, Claire V.
