S3 standby wakeup intermittent failure
I have long used S3 (Suspend to Ram) standby without a problem. Lately my system is failing intermittently to recover from S3. It fails in one of two ways: (1) Most common: Power LED on chassis illuminates, HDD activity LED illuminates continuously but no signal is ever delivered to the display - restart necessary. (2) System recovers and desktop is displayed just as I left it but then one second later a BSOD where there is no file indicated as the problem file which caused the BSOD - restart. Stop Error is as follows: STOP: 0x40000080 (0x8A9F3AD0, 0x8975D9B8, 0x80549C28, 0x00000001) I now use my USB mouse (left click) to wake up the system. I have long used the power button successfully before this intermittent problem started to occur - then I set the USB mouse to wake up in the Power Management section of the BIOS - did not help with this problem. Computer fails to recover in about 40% of the attempted wake-ups. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated - very frustrated. XP-Pro, SP3 System components: 1 person needs an answerI do too
