S3 driver failure
Hi AllI have just installed Windows 7 (64bit Build 7100) on the following configuration:Gigabyte GA-EX58-UDP5 (Intel X58 + ICH10R Chipset)I also have problems related to S3... every time I put the system to sleep it works fine (If I wake it up 1 minute after).BUT!! If I wait 5 minuttes then when I startup I get the message that Windows is resuming after a error and it have ben shutdown to prevent damage..Bla Bla Bla...(I never see a actual BSOD!!!) but if I look into the evnt log I see the HAL error....I the tried to do as suggested here...install the Intel Matrix Manager....And Intel Chipset drivers and after that it would wake up from slepp after 2 minuttes and in the event log I now get.."The Peer Networking Grouping service depends on the peer Name resolution Protocol service which failed to start because of the following error %%-2140993535" and also the "HAL error".So now it will not stay in Sleep... I have also tried to Disable all SATA.. and only use the Gigabyte SATA controller in IDE legacy mode....That didnt help either.I am using the latest Firmware F7 (Also tried the F8Beta) and that gives the same errors....I would like to hear if anyone have solved this problem with a Gigabyte board and the new 58X chipset?Best regardsCasperseBest Regards Casperse

The only fix for driver failure is a new driver. Hopefully you can turn on Windows Update to accept drivers and get something that works better, later.Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP
