Running xp on home wireless network but can not connect to router
I am running XP with latest updates. All was ok until 2 weeks ago. Now can not get on line or talk to router. Signal strength is excellent, all other laptops in house work ok, not mine. Sometimes I get on, sometimes not. Get message 'limited or no connectivity' when I try to connect to router. Was on all day yesterday then computer went into standby and then could not get back on. Using new Actiontec WI424-WR rev e router but that is not the problem. I made Verizon change the last router because I thought that was the problem but the problem persists with both routers. For clues; here is a history of events from 2 weeks ago: 1) All was ok with all laptops everybody happy 2) Verizon installed new router to fix another problem which was fixed. 3) Main PC which was hard wired failed due to unknown Windows problem. I mention this because the shared printer was originally set up on this PC and could be part of it? Hard wired PC no longer in network but printer is 3) All 5 home laptops started simulaneously dropping off network intermittently and could not get back on until router rebooted 4) Verizon replaced router at my request 4) All laptops ok but mine which can not connect with router most of the time. Other observation - when unable to connect, router Password in my laptop dialong box seems to be shorter than actual password. And then next time I reboot I am ok anyway so stored password must be ok...Can anyone help?????1 person needs an answerI do too
