Run an application in elevated mode while logged in as standard user
All of our Vista SP2 workstations are locked down - no one is a local admin and we use UAC to prompt authentication when we 'run as administrator'.Problem: We need to launch an application in elevated mode (run as administrator) without having the logged in user be a local administrator.I have explored the options of using scheduled task and running the app as 'highest privelage' but it always requires that the user launching the task to be part of the local admin group. If this functionality is not available, it would certainly be a very useful feature to have. Just like Unix/Linux systems, you would be able to dedicate a specific process or app to run in an elevated mode without having the user who is logged in to actually be root/administrator.Thank you.
