Run a program from network location
I have the PC plugged into work network.I created a few shortcuts pointing to executables using UNC, not mapped drive letters.Whenever I try to run these programs I get a warning that publisher cannot be verified - if I really wish to run the program. Is there any way to disable these warnings? I wouldn't put the shortcuts on my desktop if I didn't intend to run them.

If this is what I'm thinking it is, the software vendor doesn't have a digitally signed executible. Is this 32bit or 64bit platform?

Yes, this is exactly what you think it is. The executables that our developers create are in no way signed. They are old style EXEs.Platform is 32 bit for both the applications and my Win7 installation.

You could turn off UAC and it will stop bugging you. Go to Action Center>User Account Control SettingsSet it to its lowest level.

Not exactly my preferred solution. Is there no other way but digitally signing the files?Or just turn off this particular warning for these particular shortcuts?
