Roaming windows client logon to several domains without any trust

Hi Ibonne,

As far as I know, a domain is a security boundary. The users and computers in the same domain could share all the resources in the domain and they both need to be authoried by the domain to access the resources.

For your situation, I am afraid it is not available. The two domain is isolated and they didn`t have a trust relationship.
A good solution is adding them to the same parent domain and they will build a trusted relationship.
Considering this is more related to server, it is recommended to ask for help from our Server Forum.

Not necessarily related to 8.1 - but the problem is like this:

As an IT consultant, I am moving around on different networks. Normally my approach has been not to join the laptop to any domain, but instead having same credentials on different domains (this is not best security practise, I know). This way the user validation happens on my laptop, and then cached ad hoc when I use resources on the different domains.

On one network this is not possible. I there for have two logins on my laptop. This is resulting in two different profiles which is not practical in daily life.

What is the best approach to handle this scenario? Optimally I would like not to manually validate more than once while keeping the same client profile on different domains (desktop, app-cache, etc.)

Anyone?

Regards, Lars.
