Roaming Profile with Folder Redirection changes the name of the user's home directory.
We are a active directory 2003 native environment and are testing Windows 7. We currently use roaming profiles with folder redirection on the My Documents folder. These roaming profiles are stored together on a central Windows 2003 file server. We have noticed that when we create a new domain user the user’s home directory's name is changing from %username% to "Documents" upon first log out on a Windows 7 machine. Now we have multiple user home directories named "Documents." If we try to rename one of the directories back to the username that it should be, it changes the name for all of the "Documents" folders to that user name. We have not experienced this issue with Windows XP. Why are the names of the user’s home directories being changed to "Documents" in Windows 7?

You need to create a sub folder under the %username% folder and redirect My Documents folder to that subfolder.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Thank you for the reply. Creating the sub folder corrected the issue.
