Retrieving old emails after a system recovery
I did a system recovery on a windows xp pc and have reconfigured my Microsoft Outlook Express version 6 to retrieve from my email provider... i've retrieved 6 new messages but i can't figure out how to retrieve my old emails (which have been read) from the inbox/sent items etc... is there a way to sync this old data?

Outlook Express 6 is part of IE and not Microsoft Office. You'll get a more expert answer if you post in the correct forum.http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads?filter=answered Kathleen Orland Microsoft Outlook MVP

You probably have an older message store on the drive somewhere. Seewww.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4 Make sure you enable showing hidden files and folders and disable hiding extensions of known file types under Control Panel | Folder Options | View and then do an Advanced search for *.dbx and make sure you include hidden files and folders under the Advanced Search options. Then you should find the older directory of dbx files (they will have an older date) and you can do File | Import | Messages and choose to import from a directory and point to it and it should get them back. steve <B-Rock77> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...I did a system recovery on a windows xp pc and have reconfigured my Microsoft Outlook Express version 6 to retrieve from my email provider... i've retrieved 6 new messages but i can't figure out how to retrieve my old emails (which have been read) from the inbox/sent items etc... is there a way to sync this old data?
