Hi Meishaide: If you have a Microsoft fingerprint reader it may be causing your problem. At a Microsoft website with beta software updates for Microsoft products, I noticed it said that the fingerprint readers weren't supported in Win7 Beta. Here is their comment:"No beta software is available. Fingerprint Reader is not supported on Windows 7."Here is the URL for that website:http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx

Hi Newnerd,Okay my Fingerprint reader is built in and is AuthenTec. Before installing Windows 7 I did get the lastest software and Drivers for 64-bit. I did make adjustments to my power setting to make sure that's not effecting it but it is strange that the system keeps changing back to the default setting after so many days. This started around the same time as the device response failures, on a reboot their just fine. I just tried changing again the USB and the PCI Setting in Power Management setting to see if that helps.

Hi again Meishaide: Just to see if the fingerprint reader drivers are affecting your USB ports, you could try diabling the device in Device Manager, and then shut down the PC. Remove the USB mouse and re-start the PC. Log-in as normal and after the O.S. is running plug in the USB mouse to the same port and see if windows will recognize it and install the drivers. If the mouse functions normally that might indicate that the fingerprint reader drivers are the problems with your USB ports. The solution if that is the case might be to not use the fingerprint reader until or if properly functioning drivers are available. Might be a good idea to make a re-store point before doing all this in case you have trouble accessing the PC.
