Resume Computer from Hibernate, Computer Locks itself rather than show welcome screen
It's as simple as that. When I resume my computer from hibernate, the computer locks itself rather than show the default blue Windows XP "Welcome Screen". Then I have to enter my password (which is the same as welcome screen password) to login. When I remove the ability to lock my computer, and resume from hibernate/standby, it again bypasses the Welcome Screen.
My computer is password-protected and "Enable Welcome Screen" is enabled in the Control Panel -> User Accounts _> Change the way users log on and off.
It's a great inconvenience I'm used to looking at the blue welcome screen. I'm thinking it has something to do with the registry?? I haven't installed any new software since two days ago, when it started happening.
Thanks for ANY help you guys can provide!

Hi GTbulldog,I've observed that this happens if there is only one user account (leaving out the "Guest" account) in the system. Is that the case in your system?Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Desktop Experience]

Hi Ramesh,I actually tried it both with and without the Guest Account on, and it still shows the "Unlock COmputer" Windows Classic Screen, rather than the XP "Enter your password" screen. And for the record, I've never had my guest account on, and I haven't had any problems, until last weekend.Thank you for your help!

Hi GTBulldog,The "Guest" account is not to be taken into consideration. Try creating a new user account and observe what happens.Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Desktop Experience]

Oh, I see. I did as you said - "Guest" account is off.I created another account, "Test Account," and gave it permissions as both Limited User and Computer Administrator, and the Unlock Computer box came up each time I resumed from Hibernate.Which is why I think it is a registry value that has somehow changed, although I haven't messed with the registry. Thanks again for your help.
