Restoring from a previous system image
I have 2 internal hard drives: the standard system drive C and a large drive E for storing backups and large volume files. Recently I had a problem with the C hard drive and had to restore everything. I thought no problem because over time I had made several system images of C and stored them on E. But I cannot get Windows 7 to restore from any of these system images. I get the message: "System image is on a hard disk but Windows needs to format that disk to restore your computer. Choose a different image to restore". If I choose the recommended latest available system image (rather than any previous image) it works fine. But that is not what I want. How do I restore a selected system image of the primary hard drive that was stored on a second internal hard drive?? Btw, the system image was created by the Windows 7 Pro Backup & Restore utility and I'm using the System Recovery disk to run the restore. Thanks.
