Restore the initial audio devices in Lynk 2010 with Windows 7

Hi,

i have Lync 2010 that was working properly on Windows XP; nowadays i have installed Windows 7 Enterprise and i cannot manage anymore the audio devices in Lync. I have just a "Custom device" and everytime i need to switch between headphones and laptop speakers and phone i need to change manually the parameters in there.

Some suggestions on how to reset the audio devices in Lync?

In Windows 7 Enterprise works all fine, both devices are automatically switching as soon as i plug/unplug the headphones.

Thanks for support

Lync client automatically detects the devices attached to your computer. Please check you use the certified audio device for Lync, check at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/gg278164.aspx

Check if you have the same issue with another audio device.

If you always have the same issue with different audio device, try to reinstall the Lync client.

Try to update Lync client to latest version.

Try to update the audio drive on your Win 7 system.

One option is to use Device Manager to delete the problematic device, reboot to enable Windows' PNP to detect it. Since the device drivers remain on disk, Windows should automatically use it without any problems.

Please share with us if this helps. Thanks!

Hi.

Problem still persist. But, I think, it is a driver problem. Notebook model is HP ProBook 6550b, and audio device is IDT HD Audio. Latest driver is from 28.10.2010, that I have found on HP's site.

Scenario:

If I have plugged in a headphones, all sounds plays through headphones, except some system sounds will start play via  speakers, but ends via headphones.

If I have still plugged in headphones and I will make a test call in Lync, all Lync sounds plays through speakers. Audio settings in Lync are default from installation.

If I will once change any settings under audio device, then drop down menu (Select the device you want to use for audio calls) will change to "Custom device", and since that change, we have to change these settings always manually.

PS: I deleted device, uninstalled drivers and installed more versions of driver. With no success :(

I will really appreciated for any help from You.

Kind regards

Martin
