Reset security policies missing

Recently I added a domain e-mail to the built-in Mail App, which made some changes to my system such as requiring password on wakeup. That is fine, however, this also disabled the ability to add and remove e-mail accounts.

This was also fine for a while since I could do a "reset security policies" and then I can make the changes until the next reboot/update.

Until today, the "reset security policies" is gone, too. This is no longer acceptable behavior on my personal system which I own. I wish to get back the Reset security policies option so that I can remove the domain mailbox and prevent such changes to my system in the future.

For an example of what I'm referring to, go here: http://www.rickygao.com/how-to-reset-enforced-eas-security-policies-in-windows-8/

Hi,

I checked my system, Windows 8.1 Enterprise update1, while I doesn't find the option reset security policies.

What's your system edition?

The "reset security policies" will only show if you have added an Exchange mail account for which the server is configured to enforce those policies. If you remove the account the policies remain. If you then reset security policies then you won't have that option again as presumably the policies have been removed.

If you later re-add the account then the policies will return.

These policies are meant for mobile devices but BYO non domain devices including Win8/8.1 laptops are effected too if they use Windows Mail. Outlook is better.
