Request to FIX DPI scaling problem (blurry image) under Win 8.1

Dear Microsoft Technet!

I am using a notebook with 12,5 inch FULL HD display under Windows 8.1 Professional. The texts and icons are too small, so I wanted to set up a higher DPI %. But as I increase the percentage, the picture gets blurry, not sharp. I know that it is possible the disable the DPI scaling in the compatibility mode, but it also does not help, because in this case no resizing happens.

I know that this issue is pending a long time ago (see KB2900023), but could you please advise whether a fixing solution for this problem can be expected under Windows 8.1 in the near future? Or only Windows 10 will be capable to fix finally this issue?

Thank you for your feedback!

Regards,

Arnold

Hi,

First, I have to make an apology, I'm unable to tell you that whether there's a fully fix solution of DPI scaling issue for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 in the future because I don't know. But the issue is both related with Windows and software developers for DPI Aware or Unaware managed applications.

As workaround, in addition to the settings in compatibility mode, you can also try to manually disable api via the registry, check if it can make any difference.

For Windows 10 Technical Preview, you can submit your request via Windows Feedback App.
