Repair corrupt startup files on bitlocker protected drive
All, We have a W7 Enterprise 32 bit machine encrypted with bitlocker that stopped booting due to corrupt startup files. We just had this issue on an XP machine (non encrypted) and chkdsk /r fixed the issue. I would like to run startup repair but can't seem to get past the bitlocker drive key prompt. Here is my approach: Boot W7 installation CD and click repair, it realizes the drive is encrypted and asks for the key to unlock it. I enter the correct key and hit next but nothing happens and the screen freezes. The mouse cursor moves but thats it. In the past I've seen it go right past this where I would then run startup repair. Thoughts on alternative methods? I've tried booting in safe mode and it crashes there also. It would be helpful if I could even get to a command prompt to run "manage-bde -off c:" and then move forward with startup repair. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi, as it also crash when you login with Safe Mode, you can try to use a Win PE disk to login and use command to turn off bitlocker. Then perform system repair again.
