Rendering help with Remote Assistance
Hello! I have friends running some XP, Vista and 7 based systems. When rendering help to them over the Internet via Remote Assistance, am I able to install software during remote assistance sessions? And if yes, if the software requires a reboot of the person on the other end of my session, would remote assistance restart the prior session? Or would the person needing help have to send a new remoste assistance request to me? Thanks! Eric

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. If your friends are using the administrator accounts, you RA to his/her computer, you are shared with the administrator privileges so that you could help to install software. Basically, in previous versions of Windows, if the assisted computer reboots, the connection is terminated. Next time the user needs to request another Remote Assistance to build the connection. In Windows 7, if the user initializes the RA using Easy Connect, the next time the user won’t have to provide password as long as the trust relationship was established during the first RA session.
