Removal of Read only
I have added another HD which was used on a Windows 2000 professional. Now I can not access the drive from my XP system. I keep getting 'Access denied' message. I followed instructions to edit the registry. Still no use. Tried to change the attributes from command prompt. Still I get message saying the directory could not be accessed. Please help. I need to access that disk as I have very important info. 1 person needs an answerI do too

Assuming the drive was not encrypted, you just need to take ownership. This does not involve messing about in the Registry. Also try to run scan with an updated Anti-Virus in the driver and remove threats if any detects. Try to right click on driver and then chose explorer and see if you can access or not.
