Remote desktop problem
Hello all. I'm having a strange problem with remote desktop. I have two Windows 7 SP1 Pro x64 machines on my home WLAN, and I'm trying to connect between them by RDP. One way (let's say from machine A to machine B) it works perfectly, but not the other way (from B to A). I also tried to connect to B from a third machine without results. The strange thing is that the connection process terminates after the logon (I think in the session configuring phase) without showing errors: in the B's event viewer there is an event 4624 (account logon) with logon type 3 (network logon), immediately followed (1 sec) by a 4634 (account logoff). The things I already checked on B: 1) In System Properties\Remote both Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop with NLA are active, and the user is correctly added. 2) I tried both with the Windows Firewall turned on and off (it is configured to allow Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop from private and public networks). Any idea? Thank you in advance.

1. If the router has any logging functionality, look into log file. 2. This is a bit hard but viable possibility to catch communication between computers. 3. I hope you are trying to log into PC that no other user is logged to and no other logged session is disconnected. 4. Try to connect vis ("metalic") switch to "exclude" WiFi problems. 5. Jsou nastaveni zabezpeceni RDS na pocitacich stejna? 6. V cem se lisi pocitace, ktere nelze navzajem propojit pres RDP? Regards Milos

Check out this Windows 7 Remote Desktop connection article, probably you incorrectly configured some settings. Hope this helps.

3. I hope you are trying to log into PC that no other user is logged to and no other logged session is disconnected. Seems this is the problem. I tried when no user was locally logged on B and it worked. But why it works on A even if I'm locally logged in? If I launch RD from B with the same user, it disconnect locally and login remotely. If I try the same from A to B it doesn't work. Is there a setting to change this behavior?
