Remote desktop connection broken after Windows 8 update

I can no longer access my cloud account after a Windows 8 update.  Access to the cloud account has been confirmed OK from other computers.  I have one restore point before the update but the restore fails.  My only option appears to be a factory restore, which I would prefer not to do.  Any other options available to me?

Can you give us more information about your issue?

Do you mean that you cannot login Windows 8 via Microsoft Account? Or you cannot use remote desktop in Windows 8?

You can also provide the error message for this issue, so that we can get more useful information about it.
