Remote Registry Modification Problems - Windows 7
Hello, We have recently completed a roll out of new software to our company; while updating the software's database with the ID numbers (I was pulling the ID numbers from the registry using the registry editor and connecting to a network registry) I was unable to connect to the two machines in our environment that are running Windows 7 (all the other machines run XP SP3) - I have sufficient privileges in our environment, and have verified that the GP for the machines allows for the remote registry editing; but it still will not allow me to access the registries on these computers. I am looking for any suggestions as to why this is happening. Thank you! DTW

Make sure that the Remote Registry service is not disabled on the Win7 pcs. Disable the firewalls on the Win7 pcs (temporarily) to see if you need to add exceptions.

Remote Registry service is enabled on both machines, no conflicts from the firewall; the registry service had already been enabled, and turning the firewall off/on didn't have any effect.DTW

Could you please share me what error message did you receive when you try to access the registries?
