Remote Desktop with VPN
My company allows me to work from home. So we have a few bits of software we use to login to the intranet and access our applications. Below is a description of my issue.. help desk hasn't been very forthcoming with a solution, I presume they don't want to tell me yay or nay. I have a desktop computer, running Windows XP Pro 32bit, in my home office, for my work @ home stuff. I can connect to this computer via Remote Desktop from inside and outside my home network. I usually connect to it remotely from my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit) If I am inside or outside my network, and connect to the computer via Remote Desktop, then start the VPN, the remote desktop stops working, and disconnects. I presume this is because of the VPN either shutting down terminal services, or creating a secure tunnel between that computer (the desktop, mentioned above) and the network I'm VPN'ing to. Is there a way to stop this? So I can Remote In via RDC > then initialize my VPN?

Hi, try this: Start - Control panel - Network and Sharing centre - Change adapter settings - right click on VPN connection - select Properties - Networking - TCP/IP v4 - Properties - Advanced - uncheck Use default gateway on remote network
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now
