Remote Desktop looses connectivity.
I have two desktops, one XP Pro and one Windows Pro; I have two notebooks one XP Pro and one Windows 7 Pro. From both notebooks I could connect to the XP desktop using Remote Desktop without a problem for years (XP to XP), however both notebooks have a problem staying connected to the Windows 7 Desktop. I keep losing the connection. I have tried both from my internal network and external network. I’m trying to find out if this is a hardware issue or software issue on the Windows 7 desktop.

Such issues can be caused by the network adapter drivers. I suggest you access the websites of the laptops’ manufacturers, find the latest Windows 7 compatible network adapter drivers and install them. If the issue still occurs, I suggest you temporary disable antiviruses and firewalls on the laptops and see if the issue still occurs.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Can I assume you feel this is a network adapter issue in the Notebook? Rather then the Desktop; considering both Notebooks can log into a XP desktop just fine, a the problem occurs when trying to connect the Windows 7 machine for both notebooks.Anyways I will disable all antivirus and firewalls to see what happens.
