Remote Desktop is working fine with my DC server, as well as my DCHP server but not with my file server??? The machines I rdc to are all windows 2003 enterprise servers. In vista and xp I can rdc with no problems connecting to my file server. Windows 7 gives me this error--> "Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. please try connecting to the remote computer again" I don't get it, anyone else seen this?

Ok gentleman, After three whole days of slamming my head in the car door, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is the mstscax.dll file that is giving an unstable connection, reason being is that I switched that file with a known good working rdc in vista and it works flawlessly, let me know if anyone needs help
