I logon to both as the adminstrator of the local computer. 3. I got disconnected even before I logon, right after I logon or couple minutes after I logon. 4. When I be able to remote desktop back on again, the computer will displace the same screen I was there before (example: I was visit the msn.com website) Here what I done so far: Workaround 1Disable the TCP autotuning feature on the Windows Vista-based computer. When you are prompted for the administrator account password, type the correct password, and then press ENTER. 4. Type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled 5. Exit the command prompt. 6. Restart the computer. and on the Windows XP; go to the Registry at : HKEY_Current_user\Software\Microsoft\terminal Server Client\ Add DWord: Keep Alive Interval = Dword:00000001 However, if your Windows Vista computer is Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate, please enable Remote Desktop. 1. Click Start, in the Start Search box type "sysdm.cpl" and press Enter. 2. Click Remote tab. 3. Choose Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop. 4. Choose Select Users. . 5. Add your user account of the Windows Vista system into the list. Then you can remotely connect the Windows Vista computer from the Windows XP computer with the Windows Vista system's user account. And nothing working for me. Hi Hung, Does the issue only occur on the two computers, or it also occurs on other computers in the domain? If the issue only occurs on the two computers, the issue may be caused by the security programs on the computers. I suggest that you disable the anti-viruses and firewalls temporary, then check the result. If the issue persists, temporary remove the security programs. If the issue remains, please try to collect Network Tracing log and find some clues. Run the following commands from an elevated CMD prompt (Run as administrator). a) netsh ras set tracing * enable b) netsh wlan set tracing mode=yes c) - Run the connection attempt and wait for it to fail - d) netsh wlan set tracing mode=no (IMPORTANT: Wait for the command to return back to the command line. This may take several seconds.) e) netsh ras set tracing * disable The logs generated will be located in the %SystemRoot%\tracing directory. Also, you may check "Windows Logs/System" in Event Log.
