Remote Desktop connections
Until recently, my lan consisted of XP Pro & Vista Business machines with RDC working correctly between all machines.Have recently upgraded all to Win 7 Professional with one machine with Win 7 Ultimate (64).Have just come across a problem I'm unable to resolve. Have checked via help files & Win 7 inside Out with no joy.Main problem is with D1. It can rdc into all other machines with no problems. Other machines can rdc into each other, but none of them can rdc into D1. Have checked all settings & cannot see what the problem is.Any advice would be most appreciated.D1 is using Win 7 Pro (32)Asus M2N32 WS ProAMD Phenom 95002x 2gb PC6400Net/Lan access via D-Link dir 655 router

What error messages are you getting when you try to connect with RDC into D1?MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

After connecting, receive a dialogue box stating the following: - Remote computer cannot connect due to one of these reasons....1: Remote Access to server not enabled2: Remote computer turned off3: Remote computer not available on the network.1 is not applicable & for 2/3, it's on & available via the network. It can be accessed by all other computers via windows explorer. Have checked all settings & everything looks ok.

Yes, done that with no 3, allow RD with NLA. RDC is enabled on all systems. Only thing I can think of is that something's amiss with D1. Have rechecked all settings & cannot see anything wrong. tried RDC'ing into others again & there is no problem. Just cannot rdc into D1 from others.

Go to Start > Run and type cmd /k netstat -a and verify D1 is listening on TCP Port 3389. Also make sure there is no third-party firewall/anti-virus/anti-trojan software that may be blocking incoming Remote Desktop [RDC] requests.MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

Many thanks Al. D1 was listening on port 3389 so that left Windows firewall. Checked that & found that Remote Desktop no longer enabled. Re-enabled & rdc no working again.
