I am using Remote Desktop to connect from a Windows 7 PC to another Windows 7 PC. After about 5-10 minutes of my remote session, the connection hangs for about 3-5 minutes and then it resumes. I do NOT have the same problems when remoting to the same workstation from a Windoss 7 lap-top. Thus, I assume the problem is related to my home PC. I can avoid this problem all together by using XP mode. So, it seems like there is some setting on my Windows 7 PC that is causing this to happen. This has been happening right since I purchased my PC about a year ago. I am using a VPN made by Fortinet. My NIC driver is the most recent version available. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi , If there is no problem that the win7 laptop connect to the workstation PC, I would like to know whether the laptop is in the same environment as you home PC when remote connecting. Have you tried to connect the win7 laptop from the home PC? Also, I would like to confirm whether the remote audio settings are enabled. If so, this issue can be caused by the remote audio settings. Please perform the following steps to disable the Remote audio playback and Remote audio Recording to check whether they can solve the issue. 1.Open the Remote Desktop Connection. 2.Click Options. 3.Select the Local Resources tab. 4.Click settings in the remote audio. 5.Choose Do not play and Do not record in the Remote audio playback and Remote audio Recording. 6.Click OK, then try to connect. If the issue persists, I consider this may be related to some third party applications conflicts.
