Remote Desktop connection: Windows 7 (Ultimate) (64bit) to Windows XP Pro (32bit) connection error
Hi,I am trying to use Win7 to connet to a XPPro machine using window network. Both machines are on the same local networkWhen I try and connect I get the following error "Your Computer could not connect to another console session on the remote deskstop because you already have a session in in progress" I had no troubles when connecting from VISTA 64bit. Have tried with firewall disabled on both computers.

Hi BTagg, Does the issue occur every time when trying to use Remove Desktop connection? Please check if the issue occurs after restarting the Remote Desktop host computer and try to connect to it with the current computer. If the issue persists, please temporary disable all security software including anti-virus software and firewall on both computers and then access Clean Boot to check the result. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Also, you can try the workaround mentioned in this website to see if it works: Follow up: Securing Windows Remote Desktop with CopSSH Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
