Remote Desktop Performance Issues
1 Hi,This was a problem i faced in teh Windows 7 RC1 release and i put it down to just that, but now i have installed a final release the issue is still there.I dont understand, i have run the 2 cmd line strings that are littered all over the net regarding the auto tuning and that made no difference at all. When this exact machien was windows xp, the RDP performance was superb, yet now,....its not usable.Interestingly, if i do some action when the remote connection is up, i.e. i click an icon on teh desktop of the machine i am connected to....it takes ages. However, if i click an icon and then hit return (or do anything andf hit return) the screen refreshes.Cant be doing that between every keystroke now can i?We do use a Kisa gateway when we login. Finally, this is a brand new install of Windows 7.....literally a few hours, fully patched. Please help.About to roll back to xp at this rate as i cannot do my job with this performanceRegardsAndy

Hi Andy, May I know which version of Windows you are using to establish the RDP connection? If possible, please try to establish the connection from another computer and see how it works. In addition, please also try the following: 1. Check the bandwidth of your network. 2. Boot the computers to clean boot environment to check the issue: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 How to perform advanced clean-boot troubleshooting in Windows XP If the issue persists, please also let us know the topology of your network and if this Windows 7 computer is on this network. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
