Remote Desktop Login
When using remote desktop to login, I used to get connected to the remote desktop, and then enter my credentials. Now, I get a pop up screen from windows security asking for my credentials before I am connected. This means that I cannot connect, as I MUST enter my information after I have already connected to the remote desktop. I have already tried playing with the options, and under the advanced screen, turning off the "Use my RD Gateway credentials for the remote computer" and also trying all three connections settings: "automatically detect RD gateway server settings" "use these RD gatway server settings" (and also selecting "allow me to select later" for logon method and deselecting "Bypass RD Gateway server for local address") and the option "Do not use RD Gateway server for local address". I cannot remote desktop to my work if I have to logon via windows security, so how do I turn it off? I never had a problem in Vista . . .

Hello,I think the a pop up screen is from UAC (User Account Control). Try to disable UAC and see if the issue persists:Turn off UAC =============================1. Click Start. Type MSCONFIG in the Start Search bar and press Enter.2. Click Tools.3. Highlight Change UAC Settings, click Launch.4. Select "Nerver notify", Restart the computer. If the problem still happens, I recommned you test the problem in a new account:New Account===========1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel.2. Click "User Accounts".3. Click "Manager another account" and click "Create a new account".4. Input the user name, select "Computer administrator" as the desired account type, and then click "Create Account".5. Restart your computer and log on as the new created user account.Thomas77
