Remote Desktop Issues
Yes, I have already read the other threads on this subject matter, and have to argue that there is something not working properly. I used to be able to RD with one of my laptops and desktops in the network. Now, using the same settings and with Seven, I can not get it to connect either way. Please make this a lot easier to control. For example, there are so many different areas that you need to go to check to see if your computer is setup properly to use RD.However, I still can't figure out why I can't connect to either one. I can't connect to Seven at all, and Seven starts to connect fine to XP but errors out.I've verified all the settings are correct on both computers, and they are in the same workgroup. What's next?

Open up Local Security Policy by typing secpol.msc at the start menu search dialog box. Drill down to Local Policies >> Security Options. Set the Network security: LAN Manager authentication level policy for Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. Make sure you read the Explain tab carefully before making any changes. Yes, I agree this should be available from somewhere within the RDC dialog box.
