Remote Desktop Connection Problem
Hello All; I'm having a problem using remote desktop and have run out of ideas to try and resolve the issue... I have been using remote desktop to access the desktop of a specific machine running windows 7 for over a year with no problems. Suddenly, I can no longer connect to the desktop. Tried from several different machines/locations. The strange thing is that I can connect to the log-on prompt and am able to enter my username and password. After entering the welcome screen appears like normal but then I receive a message box with this: "Your Remote Desktop Session has ended. The connection to the remote computer was lost possibly due to network connectivity problems. Try connecting to the remote computer again or contact the network administrator" The connection then ends and it seems to lock me out for about two minutes at which time I can try again and receive the same message. Originally, I thought this might be due to an upgrade from norton antivirus 2011 to 2013 (plain av, not the internet security version). But i'm not too sure, as after complete removal of nav, i have still have the same issue. I've tried from different machines on the same network inside the firewall and from outside. Same result. Machine is win 7, sp1. I'm confident that I'm getting to the machine through the network and computer firewall as I get to the log-on prompt. Checked for spyware, nothing. Out of ideas... anyone have one? Thanks in advance. Stephen

Hi, Is it a domain or a workgroup ? the problem may depend on many things, the first thing to do is to check the network configuration on the computer. DHCP ? Static address ? more probabely,it could be a network card issue Make some connectivity tests : ping -t "IP address" and see if there is some interuptions Bruno Capron - Administrateur systmes & rseaux Microsoft MCSE/MCSA 2003 - MCITP-EA 2008
